Illustration Playbook

A cohesive visual approach to creating illustration content that is recognizably Google.

Illustrations at Google are developed and deployed at an immense global scale. Working closely with Google's Brand Studio we set out to improve and expand guidelines for internal teams and external vendors. We developed visual assets for a playbook to offer best practices for making product and marketing illustration.

Expanding on the system created for Google Privacy Policy we built a sticker sheet of over 200 illustrated assets. The sheet includes collections of objects, symbols, people, and environments created in three levels of fidelity. From icon to illustration to volumetric 3D renders, we used a wide range of treatments that stay unmistakably Google in any context.
