They're breakdance fighting! We partnered with Cartoon Network to immerse viewers in colorful, kaleidoscopic, character explosions.
Each of these five "party poppers" open with the Cartoon Network logo about to burst. In an instant a kaleidoscope of color fills the frame — familiar characters leap out and hit the dance floor surrounded by a universe of micro-animations. We had way too much fun coming up with ways to make these characters pop, lock, and drop it.
We built two unique versions of the kaleido-explosion. The explosions and background micro- animations could cycle dynamically between different combinations of the CMKY palette. This simple tool allowed us to focus more of our efforts on creating engaging character performances.
