Savage x Fenty Vol. 4

A consciousness expanding and extra-sensual set of animated vignettes for Rihanna’s Emmy winning
Savage X Fenty show.

Rihanna’s Emmy winning Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 4 brings you a seductive fashion fever dream that blends style, dance, and music with the hypnotic essence of nocturnal nature. Featuring a star-studded cast all wearing the newest Savage X Fenty looks, the show is an un-missable visual feast.

Collaborating closely with long time show creative Willo Perron and director Alex Rudzinski, we concepted, designed and animated over two minutes of psychoactive content for this years star studded cast. Drawing inspiration from the worlds of Bakshi, Heavy Metal and Belladonna of Sadness — our wildly creative team of artists brought their unique voice to every frame of animation. The end result is the synergistic blend of art and fashion which fully embraces the ethos behind Savage X Fenty — confidence and inclusivity for all genders, sizes and backgrounds.

Desert Dream - Rihanna

For Rihanna’s opening act, our goal was to provide a visual hook that would set the cadence for the rest of the show. We populated our surrealist southern California desert landscape with a dreamy nighttime vision of Rihanna, larger than life, slipping through the scenery and luring her audience to the forest where her Savages would rise.

Tree of Life - Cara Delevingne

When showcasing Cara Delevingne we wanted to tap into a supernatural energy — an exchange between two powerful beings. In this vignette we see Cara gently absorbed into the Tree of Life. Upon her exit, she is imbued with the larger than life powers of Mother Nature and set on her course to awaken all that surrounds her.

Crystal City - Precious Lee

Precious Lee is a barrier breaker in her field. As the first female curve model of color to grace so many runways and covers, we knew we had to introduce her with a bang. We wanted to showcase a raw talent that could burst a canyon wall, outrun a lion, face down a giant scorpion, and use her powers to bring forth the otherworldly set pieces of the Crystal City.

Oasis - Maxwell

Maxwell’s range as an artist takes you from the soft and contemplative to the robust and powerful. Intimate sensitive underwater scenes are contrasted with those of a world-builder and a sound that has lasted the test of time. We wanted to showcase this multi-platinum, multi grammy award winning powerhouse of an artist with a universe that can bend to the slightest twist of his fingers.

Meteor - Burna Boy

For the final animated scene, we decided to give the audience some visuals as big as the cosmos themselves. We sent Burna Boy straight out of hyperspace, into the throws of a meteor shower, past a celestial body and ultimately on a course of re-entry to earth. We relished the opportunity to send the audience literally careening head on into the final act and take them to the legendary performance of Burna Boy atop Pride Rock.
